Profession housing policy officer
Housing policy officers research, analyse and develop housing policies which enable affordable and adequate housing for all. They implement these policies to improve the housing situation of the population by measures such as building affordable housing, supporting people to buy real estate and improving conditions in existing housing. Housing policy officers work closely with partners, external organisations or other stakeholders and provide them with regular updates.

The regulations and legislation concerning the construction, maintenance and allocation of public housing facilities.
- Analyse legislation
Analyse the existing legislation from a national or local government in order to assess which improvements could be made and which items of legislation could be proposed.

Solve problems which arise in planning, prioritising, organising, directing/facilitating action and evaluating performance. Use systematic processes of collecting, analysing, and synthesising information to evaluate current practice and generate new understandings about practice.
- Advise on public finance
Advise public organisations such as governmental organisations on their financial operations and procedures, to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Advise on legislative acts
Advise officials in a legislature on the propositioning of new bills and the consideration of items of legislation.
- Manage government policy implementation
Manage the operations of the implementation of new government policies or changes in existing policies on a national or regional level as well as the staff involved in the implementation procedure..
